life’s twisted tales and adventures.
"Strange thing, time. It weighs most on those who have it least. Nothing is lighter than being young with the world on your shoulders; it gives you a feeling possibility so seductive, you know there must be something more important you could be doing than studying for exams." - Rule of Four. food. :)
Posted by glenbelle under Uncategorized
This is the first time after a very long time that I blogged about food here in twistedrumbeats. It may be a little cook off since this is supposed to be a travel blog, but what do you care? It’s my blog and I can talk about anything here. haha. Btw, I had the chance to visit this really cool website - www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and they have this Vote and win a trip to New Orleans (I hope New Orleans is doing better now after the hurricane Gustav). So, I just clicked and clicked those banners and links because I want to join the fun. Anyway, there’s this contest going on in that website and a visitor/reader is asked to vote for their favorite seafood trip! I asked Chewee which among the five recipes she liked best..and..gosh.. we had the same bet! It’s the Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet: Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille sausage smothered in a white bean casserole! It’s from Louisiana made by the genius of Chef Brian Landry.
Last month, Chewee cooked me some yummy meal of which she called “The Seafood Delight”. She used crabs, shrimps, small shells, and fish. She usedkakang gata to cook those yummy sea creatures together. The food was really great! yummy! I’d love to have another batch of Seafood Delight next time. And well.. The Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet looks terrific too and the recipe is quite easy to learn. Chewee must take a look at the recipe and schedule another seafood binging moment with me. haha. Yum!:) I just love her cooking.
Uhhmm. Since the both of us don’t fancy sausages that much, I think we’d like to replace it with bacon. I love bacon, and I think she does too.. Uhhmm. I remember that we are in a no-pork diet, so we’d probably take the sausages or the bacon out from the recipe..It won’t matter that much I guess.
What’s great about using domestic seafood aside from it’s fresh and yummier, it is much cheaper when sold in the market.
Me blogging about this makes me hungry! It’s time for Mom to prepare dinner and I’ve heard we’re having seafood tinola later. If you guys want to win free tix to New Orleans, kindly visit the site I have mentioned above. Just click and click — the instructions are so easy to understand anyway.
and don’t forget to vote for the recipe of your choice!

It’s time to go to Indonesia! :)
Posted by glenbelle under Uncategorized
India, baby!:)
When I was in my sophie years in high school, I was asked to report about a very distinctive architectural site in Indonesia and that is Borobudur. If you must know, it is hard for me to pronounce a word that contains one, or worse, many Rs in it. So just imagine how funny I sounded back then. My classmates can’t stop themselves from giggling and parroting me whenever I say BOROBUDUR. rawr rawr rawr. ![]()
At the latest Travel and Tour Expo held at SM about three weeks ago, I was able to travel to the Indonesian Consulate’s booth. haha. (How I wish I could travel to Indonesia in the near future!) The brochure says that Borobudur, aside from its architectural churvaness, is the biggest Buddhist Temple which makes it one of the wonder monuments of the world. The temple was built around 800AD and is 42kms north from Yogyakarta (this may be a city in Indonesia) and is 45 minutes away. uhhmm. So this must really be something. How I wish I can travel around this site and directly experience the Javanese traditional life! harhar. Elephants are used by tourists to travel around the town, and with that, one can really enjoy the beauty of nature and the fear of falling from the back of the elephant! nyahaha. I’m just kidding.
So there’s another temple in Indonesia called Prambanan Temple. It is now an archaelogical park and at the same time, a Hindu temple. The residents claim that the Prambanan Temple is the most beautiful Hindu Temple in the world—so we’d better check it out. haha. I should go to many other Hindu Temples for comparison though. harhar. Built in 850AD and is 17kms East from Yogyakarta and is 15 minutes away. Where the heck is Yogyakarta? haha.
Here’s a Hotel and Restaurant located on the foot of the Borobudur temple called the MANOHARA Hotel and Restaurant. It is very nice and ideal for looking at sunrise. It offers better and really quiet atmosphere (oohh.. good for meditating), set in tropical gardens, encircled by Menorch hills.
**Facilities Include:
–Air conditioned rooms, telephone, bathroom with hot and cold shower, TV, library (oh this is something), and a souvenir shop.

The hair.

When I was inside Room E1H today during our Speechcrafts Session with Dr. Gan, I was just merely observing my classmates’ faces as they go up there on our mini stage and deliver their speeches. It’s funny how some of them look, smile, or even utter those english words. Not that I’m bragging about my own physique and my style with delivering a speech because I too suck at it, it’s just that I can’t help myself but observe and comment about them. There’s this one classmate of mine who happen to be sitting in the chair behind me, keeps on talking aloud whenever another classmate give a comment about this and that. He just can’t stop himself from talking aloud, and I am beginning to feel annoyed. My seatmate noticed it too, and both of us are looking at this person behind us whenever he comments. When it was this classmate-from-the-back’s turn to deliver his speech. He just can’t stop himself from laughing and we don’t know why. He’s got this huge set of teeth attached in his oh-so-red gums that I can’t dare look at his face anymore. He splashes saliva into us whenever he opens that horrible-looking mouth and it’s just a lot of eewwness that I can’t help myself but blog about it. The hair. Oh the hair of his is unbelievable! How I wish I can hand him a product of Victory Hair so that he can at least fix his hair if not his teeth. This hair product seem to have performed many of the best magics all around the globe that a lot of people have already been enjoying the benefits of it. It has been talked about in many blogs and websites. Ask Google and he’ll direct you to many of its bloggers, etc. I just want to know if this product can actually help this awfully-crowned classmate of mine. Someday, when he’s successful with his hair already, he’ll be the winner in the game Ultimate Flirting Championship. Nobody knows.
We see people everyday, if you are not a bot. Girls literally spend more than an hour in just fixing their hair. A girl friend of mine has to wake up at a rather early time just to prepare herself and her hair before going out of the house to the office. I hope nobody messes up with her hair, for I know for sure it’s going to be another World War if that’s going to happen.
